Karmanos HOPE: A Publication of the Karmanos Cancer Institute (KCI) KCI is one of just 40 National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the U.S. Each issue of HOPE features patient stories, cancer research news, doctor and staff profiles, upcoming events and more. Jeff writes nearly all the copy for every issue, which is published three times a year and distributed to 25,000 readers. His copy helped KCI win a prestigious award in 2009 from the Healthcare Marketing Report.

Eastern: The Magazine of Eastern Michigan University Jeff writes feature stories for this publication, which reaches about 140,000 EMU alumni worldwide. The publication keeps alumni informed about their alma mater.

Living Well: A Publication of Bon Secours Cottage Health Services Jeff wrote patient success stories for this publication. Bon Secours is now Beaumont Hospital, Grosse Pointe.

The Fretboard Journal, Winter 2009 "Chasing the Echoes: In Search of John Lee Hooker's Detroit." This story, featured in a national publication for musicians and fans of stringed instruments, focuses on legendary blues artist John Lee Hooker and the places and people he encountered during his Detroit years. Jeff did the research and writing for this piece.

The Van Elslander Family: A Tribute Jeff interviewed a family spokesperson and conducted research to write the biography of this prominent metro Detroit philanthropic family. The St. John Hospital Foundation commissioned this 20-page book as a gift to the Van Elslanders for their generous support.

The Docket: University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, Summer 2007 "Putting Theory Into Practice" Jeff wrote the main feature story for this issue about UDM's Law Firm Program. This innovative new curriculum has gained national attention for revolutionizing legal education and developing graduates with advanced legal skills.

The Detroit News, Features section front, Sept. 16, 1997 "Joni Doesn't Live Here Anymore." Jeff researched, pitched and wrote this article to the Detroit News Features editor. The story explores the little-known Detroit period in the career of folksinger Joni Mitchell.

Oakland University Pushing the Boundaries: Enriching Undergraduate Education Jeff wrote several feature stories for this 45-page publication, which highlights numerous opportunities for undergraduate research at Oakland University in Rochester, Mich.
